Ms. Cannon- Special Ed. 6

Mrs. Cannon teaches 6th grade math. She has been teaching 13 years and at John Adams Middle School since 2007. She is a graduate of West Virginia State University, Marshall University, and West Virginia University with degrees in Elementary Education K-6, Special Education K-12, and a Master’s in Instructional Communications plus an additional 45 hours of coursework.  Her hobbies first and foremost, her children, Miles and Ari, then running, dancing, and kayaking.  She can be contacted at scannon@mail.kana.k12.wv.us                                                                 Work hard and be nice to people!


Mrs. Childress, a teacher for 16 years, received her BSBA from WVU, an MA in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University, and Gifted Certification from Ball State University.  She loves her garden.   Parents can contact Mrs. Childress at jchildress@mail.kana.k12.wv.us

Mr.Lampl- Special Ed.


Mr. Lampl has been teaching for 8 years and at John Adams Middle School since 2013. He graduated from Valparaiso University and Ball State University with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Speech, Theater, and Special Education.  He can be contacted at mlampl@mail.kana.k12.wv.us






Mrs. Mellace teaches Special Education. She has been teaching for 12 years at John Adams Middle. She is a graduate of Davis and Elkins College and Marshall University Graduate College with a Bachelor’s in Education and a Master’s in Education (Special Education areas MI, LD,and BD).  She can be contacted at smellace@mail.kana.k12.wv.us.

Mrs. O’Dell-Hutchison has been an aide for two years at JAMS.  She graduated from WVSU and Marshall University with a BA in Physical Education/Adult Emphasis.  She enjoys swimming and can be contacted by calling the school at 348-6652.


Mr. Pates is celebrating his first year at John Adams as an aide.  He attended Marshall University and enjoys cooking and piano.  He can be reached at davidpates@outlook.com


Ms. Santen returns to John Adams-this time as a teacher!  This is her very first teaching experience after graduating from Miami University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Childhood Education, with specializations in Language Arts and Social Studies.  She enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and reading.  She can be reached at esanten@mail.kana.k12.wv.us

Mrs. Susser is a co-teacher in the 8th grade in English and Math.  She also teaches Reading, Math, and Learning Skills. She been teaching for 35 years and has been at John Adams for 18 years.  She is a graduate from the University of Charleston and WVCOGS with degrees in Learning Disabilities, Behavior Disorders, Mental Impairments K-12, and  Physical Education and Health. Ms. Wolford


Mrs. Wolford has spent the past 20 years as an aide, the last 10 of which have been at JAMS.  She enjoys spending time with her cat, and reading history and mysteries.  She is a cat lover, enjoys amusement parks, and watching Ghost Hunter.
