2017-2018 Beta Hour SheetTHERE ARE MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN ORDER TO COLLECT THEIR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS!
Thank you for all the students, parents, and teachers who contributed to the Angel Tree. Two middle school students were selected by officers who then purchased presents for Christmas morning.
Students who have maintained a 3.76 for three consecutive semesters are eligible for induction into the National Junior Beta Club tentatively scheduled for March. A meeting was held on Monday, August 22 for those students who believe that they are eligible.
Seventh and eighth grade students are encouraged to check the list on the office window to verify eligibility. If a child’s name does not appear, he or she must see Mrs. Williams in P127 immediately.
All prospective and current Beta Club members are required to participate in 30 community service hours, 15 of which must be dedicated to John Adams. The other 15 may occur within the school or the community. Please see Mrs. Williams for an hours sheet.
Students are also encouraged to sign up for the Alzheimer’s Walk that will take place on October 29. Students who have signed up for the Alzheimer’s Walk need to meet at Appalachian Power Park at 7:30 on Saturday, October 29. Assignments will be made at that time.
Beta Club students collected 2604 books to donate to families, schools, and libraries affected by the June flood. Thank you to all JA students, families, and teachers who donated.
